black go go child costumeKids are great candidates for 70s Disco Costumes, they are so cute in them!  It’s a fun theme as most children really love to dance, just put on “Disco Inferno” and see what happens!

The accessories are great too, little boots, bangles and glasses make the kids really look the part and who knows, they may just win “Best Costume”!

candy corn child costumeDisco looks began in the 1970s, and history tells that the fashion was adapted from modern dance wear that was often created from spandex.  Shiny disco pants teamed with stretchy sequin tops were the in thing.

As the look became popular, prints such as leopard skin and gold and silver lame was introduced and has become so recognisable today that they are now called “retro” when used in modern fashions.

The 70s Disco costumes for kids are adapted really well to appeal to them and their cuteness is emphasised with some costumes even based around the color scheme of candy corn!  They include a white hat and matching boot covers.  So you really have all you need to get set for party time!

Wear a Disco costume with your little one and dance to the music, there’s so much fun to be had for both of you that it’s no wonder that it is an evergreen theme.

Saturday Night Fever Costume70s Disco Costumes for men range from the afro cool dudes, to the John Travolta snake hipped pants and shirt ensemble.

It’s qutie a varied look so to keep it simple and recognisable, it’s a good idea to stick to either the white suit like the one worn by John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, as everyone associates it with the 70s, or keep it simple with a striking, colorful shirt and pants costume.

lime 70s disco leisure suitIt’s all down to personal preference but if you want to cause a riot I even found a Disco Sleazeball Adult costume – it’s pretty funny but not for the faint hearted!  I like it as it’s unusual and good for a laugh and you can tell the era it’s from.  BUT it’s not your typical 70s outfit!

The other type I like is the leisure suit, you can find these in all sorts of colors too, from purple to lime green.  These costumes are great fun and remind me of Starsky and Hutch, it’s a good one to wear if you like to hang out around the bar chatting with friends, rather than on the dance floor, as the image it gives is cool and laid back.

You just need to pair up with a foxy chick in her fabulous 70s disco costume and you are set for a fun night on the dance floor!
